Ten teams took part in Sunday’s competition. Each team consisted of ten competitors. The firefighters had to complete a 7x50-metre relay race with obstacles. In addition, they competed in events involving firefighting exercises, in which the competitors had to build suction and main hose lines. The hoses had to be correctly connected to the portable pump and distributors. The task was considered complete when a stream of water flowed through the constructed hose line. Additionally, the stream of water had to turn a special target and knock over cones.
The events were judged by a fourteen-member judging panel chaired by Staff Aspirant Jadwiga Jurewicz. She was assisted by judges, event managers, Senior Captain Janusz Drużga and Junior Captain Tomasz Łukaszewski.
The fastest relay runners were the firefighters from Nowa Kuźnia and Ławszowa. The firefighters from Nowogrodziec performed best in the firefighting exercise. In the overall classification, the Volunteer Fire Department from Parowa came first. The Bolesławiec County Head’s Cup therefore went to Parowa. The subsequent places went to the firefighters from Nowa Kuźnia, Ławszowa, Gierałtów, Osiecznica, Nowogrodziec, Jurków, Gromadka, Zebrzydowa and Ocice.
The firefighters’ competition attracted many spectators. In addition to residents of Osiecznica, those present included representatives of the authorities of Gmina Osiecznica and Bolesławiec County, as well as directors and managers of many institutions and establishments.

It is organized by the County and Municipal Boards of the Association of Volunteer Fire Departments and the County Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec. Local governments also participate in organizing the competition. Its objectives include assessing the level of firefighting training and promoting fire-protection issues.
