Yesterday at around 11:00 p.m., a high-frequency coupling capacitor was damaged on the 110 kV line within the 110/20 kV substation in Bolesławiec.
– The capacitor is a porcelain device and it was physically damaged, which is probably why an “explosion” was heard. No one was injured. There was no other damage. The damage occurred in the enclosed area of our substation – explains Marcin Marzyński, spokesperson for Tauron Dystrybucja S.A.
Around 10,000 residents were left without power. Power was restored at 11:32 p.m. Everything is currently operating normally.
Work is underway to replace the damaged capacitor.
