The building of Municipal School Complex No. 1 on Dolne Młyny Street is undergoing comprehensive modernization. Work on the reconstruction of the facility is currently underway. On the ground floor, stairwells and a heritage room will be separated with partition walls. The nursing office and school shop will be relocated.

Rooms for the accountant, a public-address system room and a staff room are also being separated. The hall will be provided with additional lighting. On the remaining floors, the hydrants will be relocated, existing door openings will be reduced, and the door joinery will be replaced. The stairwells will also be separated with partition walls on all three floors. As part of the work, new fire-protection, water-supply, sanitary-sewerage and air-conditioning systems for the computer rooms will be installed.

The alarm and CCTV systems, as well as the public-address system, will be modernized. New stairs, cloakrooms and technical rooms will be built in the basements. New floors and floor coverings are planned for the classrooms and corridors. The work is being carried out by Rogalski of Bolesławiec. The planned investment cost is PLN 1,560,400. The funds come from the city budget.

Municipal School Complex No. 1 has 470 students. MZS consists of Primary School No. 5 and Municipal Gymnasium No. 4. The facility underwent thermal modernization in 2006.
