In mid-July, the Angelus Silesius House of Meetings in Wrocław and the Stanisław Wyspiański Youth Cultural Centre in Bolesławiec launched the joint “Creative Summer in Bolesławiec County” project. A group of volunteers from Armenia, Georgia, Spain and Italy is running free workshops for children aged 8 to 16 at the Youth Cultural Centre and the Old Theatre (art, sports, theatre, cultural and language activities).
Local volunteers from Bolesławiec are assisting the foreign cultural animators as interpreters. The project aims to ensure that children spend their holiday time pleasantly and usefully, making interesting acquaintances and developing their skills. An additional benefit is that through play, the children have an opportunity to learn foreign languages.
After two weeks of activities in the city, the volunteers will leave for two weeks to work with children in four small towns in Bolesławiec County. They will return to the Bolesławiec Youth Cultural Centre on 12 August. Children can be registered for the August activities at the Youth Cultural Centre:
- in person – at the centre, 10:00–15:00
- by telephone – at 75 644 65 65.
