In February this year, leaflets bearing the names of local politicians appeared throughout the city. They insinuated that these were agents from the so-called Wildstein list. One of those listed on the leaflet—Deputy Mayor of the city Karol Stasik—has just received a response from the Institute of National Remembrance regarding the matter.
"It was determined that I have two files. The Security Service opened one during my student years and the other somewhat later. I was granted the status of an injured person," explains Karol Stasik. Under the law, the deputy mayor will now be able to view the documents concerning him. Karol Stasik was given this opportunity on September 20. "I do not know who informed on me. I would not like to accuse anyone, but they will probably be people from my closest circle," says the deputy mayor, unable to conceal his sadness.
The leaflet distributed in various places in Bolesławiec in February contained three names identical to those of local politicians—Deputy District Governor Cezary Przybylski, District Governor Krzysztof Konopka and Deputy Mayor Karol Stasik. In June this year, Deputy District Governor Cezary Przybylski received a response from the Institute of National Remembrance regarding his case. It stated that he was not a person appearing on the Wildstein list. Deputy Mayor Karol Stasik also received a response regarding his case.
We will report on the decisions of the Institute of National Remembrance concerning the other Bolesławiec politicians whose names appeared on the Wildstein list as we obtain such information from them.
