The Saturday festival was held in Waryński Park. It began with a solemn Mass attended by the former parish priest of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, Father Władysław Rączka. The Mass was followed by artistic and entertainment performances. The Municipal Wind Orchestra performed for the audience, along with dance and vocal groups from primary schools and lower-secondary schools in Bolesławiec. Groups from the Youth Cultural Centre and the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre also performed during the festival. The organizers also thought about the children. Games and physical activities were organized for them.
The renovation of the Sanctuary’s roof will cost 500,000 zlotys. “The renovation is necessary because the roof is in terrible condition,” says Bolesław Nowak, a co-organizer of the festival. Money was collected in various ways during the festival. There were auctions, collections and lotteries. The organizers and the people gathered at the festival hope that the money raised during the event will accelerate the start of the renovation work.
