On Wednesday at 5:00 p.m., the Bolesławiec Yearbook will be presented at Bolesławiec Town Hall. The fifth edition of the yearbook commemorates the most important events of 2012 in Bolesławiec and the Bolesławiec Region: the granting of the title of Minor Basilica to the Bolesławiec Marian Sanctuary, the opening of the Old Theatre, the award won at the Central Harvest Festival by a wreath from Kraśnik Dolny, and significant cultural events.

It presents profiles of artists associated with our city: Henryk Baranowski, who came from Bolesławiec and was a director highly regarded in Poland and abroad, as well as local young artists Mateusz Grobelny, Magdalena Olga Konieczna, Joanna Mysłek-Michnowska and Katarzyna Sas.

It also contains Franciszek Uściński’s recollections of the founding of the Bolesławiec music school. The “In memoriam” section features biographies of well-known deceased residents of Bolesławiec: Stanisław Biardzki, Col. Włodzimierz Kowalski, Col. Henryk Wawrzynowicz and Eng. Tadeusz Zastawnik, PhD.

The publication also includes many other materials and items of information about the recent past and the present day. It is richly illustrated with photographs presenting the people described and their works, as well as documenting the events mentioned.

Admission to the event is free. Anyone interested who cannot attend the presentation will have the opportunity to purchase the publication at bookshops in Bolesławiec, the Museum of Ceramics, and the Tourist and Cultural Information Point.
