A meeting of veterans at the Wedding Palace in Bolesławiec was organized to mark the 60th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising. Present were soldiers of the Home Army, representatives of the city and county authorities, and representatives of the ZHP troop named after the Grey Ranks. The ceremony began a few minutes after noon with a speech by Piotr Roman.
The mayor recalled the historical circumstances surrounding the outbreak of the Uprising. Among other things, he emphasized the significance of Operation Tempest, a symbol of the insurgent struggle, as well as the heroic attitude of the Home Army soldiers—not only those who took part in the Uprising, but also those who fought during World War II. On behalf of the city authorities and the residents of Bolesławiec, the mayor thanked the veterans and presented them with diplomas. After the historical section ended, the artistic section began, featuring performances by preschool children and music school students.
