Residents of Bolesławiec took part in an extraordinary event. The Lower Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra and leading Polish musicians were invited to the city: Marek Napiórkowski (guitar), Kuba Badach (vocals), Krzysztof Herdzin (conductor, arrangements), Tomasz Kałwak (keyboards), Robert Kubiszyn (bass guitar), and Paweł Dobrowolski (drums).

The artists performed Dire Straits music in symphonic arrangements. This combination of classical music and rock was intended to bring the work of this iconic rock band closer to audiences. It also offered a broader public the opportunity to experience high culture.

Residents had a wonderful time listening to one of the world’s greatest rock bands. The children enjoyed themselves most, dancing to such hits as: Brothers in Arms, Ride Across the River, Romeo and Juliet, Local Hero, Money for Nothing, Private Investigations, Sailing to Philadelphia, Sultans of Swing, Walk of Life, and Your Latest Trick.

Krzysztof Herdzin shared anecdotes and interesting facts about the English band and expertly led the ensemble of more than 50 musicians. The concert was a highly successful event during Dni Bolesławca 2013.
