“Those dance merrily whom happiness accompanies with song” – this is the motto of the Song and Dance Ensemble “Mały Bolesławiec” and the dance group from the Deutsch-Polnischer Verein in Zwickau, whose joint performance can be seen on 16 June (Sunday) at the Old Theatre in Bolesławiec. It begins at 3:00 p.m. Admission is free.

This is not the first meeting between the dancers from Poland and Germany. Since 2004, both groups have met regularly for joint performances and dance workshops. They learn dances from various regions of Poland as well as German dances. For the children and young people from Bolesławiec, this is a good opportunity to meet their peers from Germany and learn about their customs and language. For the German group, which consists partly of people of Polish origin but also of people with no connections to Poland, such meetings provide an opportunity to discover our country and region.

This time, the group from Zwickau will have a more intensive stay than usual, as the dancers will also travel to Jelenia Góra for the International Folklore Festival. There, they will have the opportunity to meet groups from Kostrza, Świdnica, the Czech Republic and Germany.

The Sunday performance at the Old Theatre will conclude the dance workshops attended by both groups.
