The opening of an exhibition of works by students of the painting workshops at the University of the Third Age in Bolesławiec will take place on 15 June at Galeria Długa at BOK-MCC. It begins at 4:30 p.m..
The exhibition presents works created during the 2012/2013 academic year. The pieces were made using traditional painting techniques (watercolour, acrylic) and drawing techniques (pencil, coloured pencil, marker). Their subject matter largely concerns nature and its observation—they include landscapes, figures and still lifes.
The UTW painting group consists of: Teresa Jaśkowska, Wanda Kowalik, Halina Kubów, Anna Kurzydło, Grażyna Łach, Bogumiła Łuczkowska, Ewa Maliara, Jadwiga Maryniak, Łucja Mielczarek, Wioletta Nowakowska-Pogwizd and Danuta Satoła. The event will be enhanced by a performance by children from the “Bolesławiec” Song and Dance Ensemble.
The painting workshops at the University of the Third Age are led by Katarzyna Sas, a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. Works by UTW students can be admired, among other places, at Municipal School Complex No. 2 and the Social Care Home in Bolesławiec.
