The sixteenth edition of the Regional Athletics Games, organized by the District School and Special Education Institutions Complex, took place on 21 May. The District Office in Bolesławiec assumed honorary patronage of the event. Thanks to cooperation with the school’s friends, the event was held at the sports facilities of the Complex of Commercial and Service Schools.
The following organizations helped conduct the competition: the Bolesłavia Inter-School Sports Club and the District Centre for Education and Staff Training. At the invitation of the headmistress of PZSiPS, Zdzisława Woźniak, the following institutions registered to take part in the Games:
- Occupational Therapy Workshops in Bolesławiec
- II Community Self-Help Home in Bolesławiec
- Educational and Residential Institutions Complex in Lwówek Śląski
- Complex of Schools and Educational Institutions in Lubin
- Special Educational Centre in Lubań.
The aim of the competition was to integrate children and young people with intellectual disabilities and provide an opportunity to showcase the motor skills of people with physical disabilities.
The Games’ participants took part in the following events: target throwing, tug-of-war, obstacle-course races, tunnel races and ball rolling. During the sporting events, they also created a team artwork using the collage technique, entitled “Eurolandia 2012”.
Physically able competitors competed in three age categories. Here are the winners’ names:

The best athletes from PZSiPS were: Andżelika Weneny, Martyna Białowąs, Wiktoria Hajde, Piotr Obrzut, Gabriel Sondaj, Bartosz Rudziński, Patryk Smusz, Marcin Przyłucki, Elżbieta Kubuś, Anna Jaskot, Małgorzata Reformat, Damian Machaczka, Kamil Tomoń and Aleksander Sarzyński.
The winners were presented with awards by Deputy District Governor Stanisław Chwojnicki, Deputy Mayor Kornel Filipowicz, Major Robert Lisiak and the headmistress of PZSiPS in Bolesławiec, Zdzisława Woźniak.
The Games were enhanced by a gymnastics and dance performance, as well as an appearance by the winners of recitation competitions: Bartek Rudziński, Tomasz Bochenek and Jacek Gąsieniec – students of PZSiPS.
