Dolnośląskie Centrum Sportu Polana Jakuszycka is primarily associated with professional ski trails, biathlon and top-class training infrastructure. But the main building of the center conceals a space with a truly unique character – the Interactive Sports Center. It combines modern education, history and sports entertainment, designed around the idea of making winter disciplines accessible to everyone and bringing generations together.

Regardless of age or level of physical fitness, every visitor can experience the emotions associated with professional athletes and test themselves on the simulators. Children discover the world of winter sports through an engaging game, while adults test their reflexes and accuracy. ICS combines physical activity with an accessible lesson in physics and sports history.

From quiz to podium: what a visit looks like step by step

The adventure begins by purchasing tickets at the DCS main reception and registering in the system – all you need to do is think of a nickname and choose the country you want to represent. Visitors then enter the educational and science zone, where they discover the secrets of the nature of the Jizera Mountains, the history of the birth of winter sports in the region and the heritage of the iconic Bieg Piastów.

The exhibition also explains the secrets of biomechanics and physics in sports in an accessible way – showing how fractions of a second and air resistance determine a place on the podium. At every stage, visitors can answer questions in interactive quizzes and collect individual points. An interesting feature is the production station, where guests take on the role of professional sports commentators and record their own narrated descent.

Five winter sports simulators: the heart of the entire center

The main feature and greatest attraction of ICS is the zone with five winter sports simulators, allowing visitors to directly test their own skills.

  • Biathlon with a laser shooting range – learning to aim precisely at targets.
  • Ski jumping simulator – the rush of air at the takeoff and coordination during flight and landing.
  • Bobsleigh descent simulator – for fans of extreme speed, the center’s most popular attraction.
  • Ice hockey – a test of strength, accuracy and reaction time when striking the puck.
  • Alpine skiing – maneuvering on a virtual slope.

Although some simulators primarily serve an entertainment function, they are closely modeled on the equipment used by professional athletes for training. The entire experience ends with a visit to the photo booth located by the podium – where visitors can capture the place they achieved.

When should you visit ICS? Opening hours and tickets

The Interactive Sports Center is located in the main DCS building. It is regularly open from Friday to Sunday, while during the week it is available only to organized groups with an advance reservation. This is a year-round attraction, available to individual guests, families with children and organized groups.

Tickets can be purchased at the reception on level 1. Due to the simulators’ great popularity, advance reservation of a specific time slot is recommended for school trips and groups of more than 10 people.
