To mark the 68th anniversary of the end of World War II, tribute was paid at the monument to the soldiers of the Second Army of the Polish Army to those who fought in defense of our homeland. – With an awareness of how unsettled things can be in various parts of the world, we realize that peace is a very luxurious commodity, for which there is no guarantee at any moment – said starosta Cezary Przybylski during the ceremony Cezary Przybylski. – Perhaps humanity would have avoided the nightmare of the Holocaust if the young Adolf Hitler, with artistic ambitions, had not been cruelly criticized. He then treated the world equally cruelly. What is more, many people allowed him to do so. Let us look more honestly, let us look more wisely, let us look beyond the horizon. Only such a perspective can help establish and maintain peace in the world.
One of the most important elements of the ceremony was the laying of flowers at the monument to the soldiers of the Second Army of the Polish Army. Flowers were laid, among others, by delegations of veterans, Siberian exiles, uniformed services and local government officials.
