From Friday, Forum cinema will screen three premieres. For the youngest viewers, there is the animation “Mambo, Lula and the Pirates”, packed with hot hits; for adults, the Polish drama inspired by true events “Cheated” and the latest comedy by Spanish cinema master Pedro Almodóvar, “I'm So Excited!”. This is undoubtedly a sign of recognition and a distinction from distributors for the single-screen cinema in Bolesławiec.
“Mambo, Lula and the Pirates” is an animation for the whole family. The film’s heroine, Lulu (voiced by Katarzyna Pakosińska), has dreamed of a career on stage since childhood. A chance to fulfil her dreams comes when the mysterious Carlo opens a casino on the beach and immediately offers her a job. While Lulu prepares a song-and-dance show for her new boss, her friend Mambo begins an investigation, suspecting that Carlo is not who he claims to be.
“Cheated” is based on true events. The story describes the chance meeting of two teenagers who closely resemble each other and leads to the discovery of an unbelievable mistake made years earlier. The story of sisters switched at one of the hospitals, publicized by the media, provoked enormous emotions.
The Spanish comedy “I'm So Excited!” is the nineteenth film in Pedro Almodóvar’s career, featuring the biggest stars of Spanish cinema in the leading roles. The cast includes Penélope Cruz, Antonio Banderas, Cecilia Roth, Javier Cámara, Paz Vega and Lola Dueñas.
Details and reservations are available on the Forum cinema website.
