On Friday at 6:00 p.m., the opening of Joanna Bruździńska’s ceramics exhibition will take place. It is the artist’s first exhibition. The exhibits will include ceramic works created in the studio of Mateusz Grobelny, who introduced Joanna to the enchanted world of clay. Almost every one of Joanna’s ceramic projects is supported by this artist’s experience and knowledge.
In her work, Bruździńska mainly draws on traditional means of expression. The works presented in the gallery are busts and relief portraits, created primarily in ceramics, sometimes combined with wood or stone. According to the artist, a characteristic feature of her work is “bringing out what plays in the soul”. Joanna Bruździńska seeks to show viewers her own interpretation of the world around her and her fascination with human nature.
Joanna Bruździńska was born in Bolesławiec in 1967. She has always been interested in art, but her adventure with painting and sculpture began in 2011, when she took part in a souvenir-making course. At that time, she met Dariusz Miliński, an artist who showed her his painting studio. He invited her to an outdoor painting workshop in Pławna, where she had the opportunity to try her hand at painting. Contact with Polish and foreign artists and with various creative styles led her to begin creating. Joanna’s exhibition at the BOK-MCC gallery can be viewed until 29 May 2013.
