The second edition of Szpikolada is behind us. Below, we publish a letter we received from the community of Zespół Szkół Ogólnokształcących i Zawodowych im. mjr. Henryka Sucharskiego in Bolesławiec:
The second edition of Szpikolada, an initiative of Zespół Szkół Ogólnokształcących i Zawodowych, ended in tremendous success. Among residents of the town and surrounding areas, 355 potential donors were registered, approximately 22 liters of blood were collected, and PLN 3,300 was raised in a public collection for a girl suffering from leukemia.
The organizers of Szpikolada would therefore like to express their heartfelt thanks to everyone involved. First and foremost, we thank the volunteers for preparing and carrying out this initiative. We extend our sincere thanks to Mr. Cezary Adam Przybylski, Starosta of Bolesławiec, for granting Szpikolada honorary patronage.
We would like to thank Regionalne Centrum Krwiodawstwa w Wałbrzychu, representatives of Fundacja Dawców Komórek Macierzystych Szpiku, Fundacja dla Zdrowia from ZOZ in Bolesławiec, and the Polish Red Cross.
We thank Powiatowa Stacja Sanitarno-Epidemiologiczna, the “Amazons” group, Klinika Transplantologii Narządów of Akademia Medyczna we Wrocławiu, and Bolesławiecka Przychodnia Weterynaryjna for preparing lectures and presentations for young people.
