Young people from the Construction School Complex will complete another month-long vocational internship in Leipzig (this time focusing on flood protection systems in construction, using Saxony as an example). Since 2004, the school has been involved in projects under the “Leonardo da Vinci – Lifelong Learning” programme, thanks to which students at the construction school can undertake vocational internships abroad.

The training will cover: structural and technical safeguards used to protect buildings from floods, building-raising systems, structural protection against flooding of electrical and gas installations, sewage systems, water supply systems, wastewater treatment plants, etc.

The young construction students will learn about the construction of retention reservoirs, protective barriers, masonry shields and earth embankments. They will also take part in an inspection of the flood protection measures implemented in Leipzig.

The month-long vocational internship will improve the qualifications of the ZSB students. Future employers will be able to hire workers with broad qualifications, knowledge of foreign languages and the ability to adapt to new working conditions and requirements in various European countries.

Since 2004, the Construction School Complex has organised several month-long internship trips to Germany. More than 200 school students have benefited from them, studying such specialisations as landscape architecture technician, construction technician and environmental protection technician. The internships also covered a variety of topics, including recycling and sorting municipal waste, improving the quality of education through vocational internships, new trends in landscape architecture construction, and protecting the cultural and historical landscape of gardens and parks in the Saxony region.

To date, funding for all the projects carried out has amounted to €510,018. Each project has enabled the construction school’s students to gain valuable professional experience, confirmed by Europass Mobility certificates.
