The Residential Care Home in Bolesławiec has been operating since March 2012. The facility is modernly equipped and maintains the highest standards. It has a large, attractively landscaped green area. The home enables its residents to meet their cultural and religious needs, provides conditions for the development of self-governance, and supports maintaining and developing contacts with family and the local community.

“In addition to good facilities, a place like this needs a good spirit,” said President Piotr Roman. “I hope that the residents feel at home here, because the director and staff of the Residential Care Home are professionals with heart,” he added.

During the ceremony, Residential Care Home director Bogusław Szeffs presented all the major events that had taken place at the senior home in Bolesławiec.

“Last year, on April 2, we planted our magnolia tree in front of the home; today marks one year since that event,” said the director. “A lot happened during that time. We welcomed many guests, organized fairs, and visited ceramic factories. The most moving moments were when children from Bolesławiec schools and preschools visited us for Grandparents’ Day and before Christmas.

During the artistic part of the ceremony, performances for the residents and guests were given by children from the State Music School, while the Jutrzenka Municipal Song and Dance Ensemble and the Pireus ensemble danced and sang. The atmosphere was joyful, and the residents had a wonderful time. The ceremony concluded with refreshments and a cake prepared by the Residential Care Home’s cooks.

Bolesławiec takes care of its older residents. In November last year, our city received the first distinction among municipalities in the “Local Government Friendly to the Education of Older People and Intergenerational Integration” competition. The competition was organized by the Senate of the Republic of Poland.

The Bolesławiec municipality was recognized for developing institutional infrastructure that meets the needs of seniors. Since loneliness, illness, and a sense of uselessness are among the most important problems faced by older people, the municipality’s goals include supporting and maintaining the operations of the Day Care Home, the University of the Third Age, the Bolesławiec Senior Citizens’ Council, the Residential Care Home, and implementing projects of the Municipal Social Welfare Centre.
