The Bauer-owned BDN Printing House in Wykroty is demanding that the Municipality of Nowogrodziec refund PLN 12 million in tax, Polskie Radio Wrocław reported. According to PRW, this is connected with the municipality’s lost court cases against other companies, in which the municipal authorities “wanted to invalidate their own resolution exempting businesses in the economic zone from local taxes until the end of its existence.”

We contacted Bauer spokesperson Maciej Brzozowski and the mayor of Nowogrodziec Robert Relich. Neither of them wanted to comment on the reports by the Wrocław media outlet. “Administrative proceedings are under way. I have taken my position: I refused to refund the tax. Whether the company’s claims are justified or not now depends on an independent court,” the mayor stressed. He also added that he was “cautiously optimistic” about the matter.
