Holiday cards, bunnies, Easter eggs, chicks and baskets are just some of the works on display at a beautiful exhibition of holiday decorations organized at the Branch of Municipal Public Preschool No. 3 on Dolne Młyny Street.
The exhibition features numerous works made both using traditional techniques and modern decorations with ribbons, wool, sequins, beads and feathers.
All the Easter decorations are the result of work by preschoolers and a group of students from class 1B of Municipal Middle School No. 4. The middle school students took part in an art workshop organized at the preschool on Wednesday (March 27). The workshop was organized by the preschool teachers and the librarian from the students’ partner institution, Municipal School Complex No. 1 in Bolesławiec.
Before beginning their work, the workshop participants watched a multimedia presentation prepared by Ms Joanna Bednarz-Męczyńska about Easter traditions, holiday symbols, elements of folk culture and ways of decorating Easter eggs.
The aim of the workshop was not only to develop the children’s manual skills, creative imagination and ingenuity, but above all to cultivate Easter traditions among the younger generation.
After finishing their work, all the young artists, together with their older companions, took part in several games based on the lyrics of Easter songs. They then sat down together at the table to share an Easter breakfast, which has been a preschool tradition for several years.
