The match began calmly. For the first few minutes, both teams sounded out each other’s abilities. In the 5th minute, Marcin Szaja played a nice pass to Łukasz Rudyk. Łukasz took a shot, but it was too weak to surprise the visiting goalkeeper. The first goal came in the 7th minute. Marcin Ciliński passed the ball from midfield to Grzegorz Nowak. Nowak played it into the penalty area toward Paweł Rissmann and Radosław Pietkiewicz. The latter completed the move and put the ball into the net. BKS led 1–0. From that moment on, our team clearly took control of the match.
In the 11th minute, Łukasz Rudyk had another chance. However, a visiting defender managed to block his shot. A few minutes later, Marcin Ciliński failed to take advantage of an opportunity. His shot was off target. BKS clearly dominated until the end of the first half. In the 21st minute, Radek Pietkiewicz was unable to capitalize on an excellent chance. He sent a well-delivered ball from Łukasz Rudyk just over the junction of the post and crossbar of the visitors’ goal. The second BKS goal came in the 40th minute. This time, Paweł Rissmann produced a fine technical shot. Seeing the goalkeeper coming off his line, Paweł did exactly what he should have done—lobbed the goalkeeper. Around two hundred supporters celebrated BKS’s 2–0 lead.
The visitors picked up the pace in the second half. However, this did not create much danger in front of Marek Przykłota’s goal. The BKS goalkeeper dealt confidently with the few dangerous situations created by the visitors. In the 57th minute, Radek Pietkiewicz had another opportunity to extend the lead. He was unable to get past the defender, who took the ball away from our player’s feet. Two minutes later, Tomasz Jasiński shot at the Motobi goal, but the ball went wide of the visitors’ right post. During this period, the BKS coach made his first substitution. Jacek Jasiński replaced Marcin Szaja. Two minutes after the substitution, BKS scored a third goal. It was scored by Jacek Jasiński himself.
In the 66th minute, the score was already 4–0 to the Bolesławiec side. Grzegorz Nowak scored, taking advantage of the confusion in front of the visitors’ goal. Three minutes later, Marek Przykłota had the opportunity to demonstrate his goalkeeping skills. He caught a firmly struck ball without major difficulty. No more goals were scored before the final whistle, although Radosław Pietkiewicz and Adrian Popek had further chances. After a good and determined performance, BKS defeated Motobi Bystrzyca Kąty Wrocławskie 4–0.
Coaches’ comments
After the match, visiting coach Dariusz Michaliszyn made no attempt to hide his disappointment. “What is there to comment on? The result speaks for itself. The team that was clearly better won. They scored four goals and could have scored two more. I can only apologize to the supporters for what my team showed,” coach Michaliszyn said.
BKS coach Marcin Ciliński was in a completely different mood. “I do not hide the fact that I had some slight concerns before this match because, as we know, they were relegated from the third division. We did not know their style of play or how they moved around the pitch. Today, the entire team definitely rose to the occasion. I wanted to thank all the players for their ambition, determination and fighting spirit. We have to keep it up. If we play against the other teams the way we did today, I think things should be fine,” coach Ciliński said happily.
