On Monday, March 25, at 7:30 p.m., Mayor Piotr Roman and Andrzej Jarosiewicz, curator of the Bolesławiec Marian Basilica, invite you to the Marian Basilica on Kościelna Street for a mystery play inspired by the texts of Rev. Jan Twardowski, “Stations of the Cross – musical images and impressions.”
The event is a musical and poetic mystery play. Cezary Chmiel (keyboards) and Marek Stryszowski (saxophone) composed contemporary-sounding music (classical-pop-jazz) inspired by the philosophical text of Rev. Jan Twardowski, depicting the 14 stations on Christ’s path to Golgotha.
The concert as a whole consists of music combined with poetic texts, which will be recited by the distinguished theatre and film actor Jan Nowicki. In addition to Chmiel and Stryszowski, Tomasz Kudyk will perform on trumpet.
The mystery play has been presented in many cities in Poland and abroad: during the Holy Father’s visit to Ukraine (in June 2001), as well as in Stockholm, London, Seville and Chicago. In Bolesławiec, we had the opportunity to attend this event in April 2010.
