The celebrations began with Holy Mass in the chapel of the Children’s Home. The residents, educators and invited guests attended. After Mass, the children and their caregivers presented the play “Which Way to Heaven?”. It was an engaging and painstakingly prepared story about searching for happiness in life and about how each of us can find our own path to holiness. The young actors performed with emotion and great commitment.
During the homily, wise words were spoken about the role played in the life of the young Jesus by his guardian Joseph, the patron saint of the Children’s Home. The priest also spoke about how, without divine as well as human care, the Children’s Home could not function.
On this important day for the Elizabethan Sisters, lay educators and residents, the following people came to the Children’s Home: Barbara Kostyra (head of the Civic, Social Affairs and Health Department), Tadeusz Kupczak (director of MOPS), Danuta Marecka (District Family Support Centre), Tadeusz Medyński (the first resident of the Bolesławiec Children’s Home), Janina Piestrak-Babijczuk (deputy chair of the City Council), Teresa Rudzińska (director of the Psychological and Educational Counselling Centre), probation officer Iwona Tur as well as Helena Kowalska and Jan Rus.
Each guest brought gifts for the children. There were also many warm wishes for prosperity and good health, as well as assurances of continued support for the residents and their caregivers.
The Istotne.pl editorial team joins in these wishes, thanking the hosts for inviting us to this pleasant and very warm celebration.
