There were so many performers at the festival that this year, soloists did not perform on stage; instead, entire preschool groups took part. Each group presented two songs from well-known fairy tales and one dance.

The older children sang songs from Cinderella: “Cinderella’s Song”, “The Sisters’ Song”, and “Ballad of Cinderella” with a dance routine. The middle group sang “Maya the Bee”, the song “The Smurfs’ World”, and performed the “Smurfs’ Welcome” dance. The youngest children sang “Fairy Tales” and “The Dwarfs” and performed “The Dwarfs’ Polka”.

All the young performers were observed by a jury comprising the Festival’s honorary guests: retired employees of Municipal Public Kindergarten No. 3 and the institution’s headmistress.

The jury had a difficult task because the preschoolers rose to the occasion and the performance was very good, while the choice of repertoire was exceptionally apt and suited both the participants’ age and abilities.

The stage featured well-chosen choreography, wonderful decorations and professional musical accompaniment. The young artists appeared in splendid costumes made by teachers, parents, grandmothers and grandfathers. The costumes were appropriately matched to the content of the songs performed.

During breaks between the performances, extraordinary guests appeared on stage – fairy-tale characters portrayed by the Festival’s organisers: Iwona Witczak, Dorota Berestecka and Beata Grabas-Jaśkiewicz. The teachers dressed up as a Fairy, Thumbelina, Little Red Riding Hood, the Queen of the Bees, a Dwarf and even a Witch. The teachers not only entertained the audience; they also asked riddles and invited everyone to enjoy cheerful games accompanied by music.

Taking into account the artists’ stage presence, the way they presented their pieces and the overall artistic impression, the jury unanimously declared that all the young artists deserved to be called winners. At the end of the event, every preschooler received a prize: a colouring book featuring fairy-tale characters.

Since the Festival took place on 8 March, the children also prepared a surprise for the invited guests. At the end of the ceremony, all the preschoolers sang the song “Sunny Wishes” together and presented all the ladies with handmade gifts: necklaces, fans and flowers made from salt dough. The event brought the preschoolers much joy and was surely an unforgettable experience for the guests.
