The incident occurred on Tuesday, February 26. At around 9:00 a.m., Bolesławiec police received a report that a man had climbed onto the Millennium Cross. A negotiator urged him to come down to the ground. Police, paramedics and firefighters were at the scene. The man refused to come down and used offensive language. At one point, the desperate man hung from one of the cross’s arms, then fell onto an inflatable landing mat laid out by the firefighters. The man was taken to hospital for psychiatric examinations.
The man is about 50 years old and lives in Bolesławiec. He is the same person who also climbed onto the same cross last year and threatened to jump.
