The Jelenia Góra Zone Championship for Upper-Secondary Schools in Boys’ Indoor Football is now behind us. The competition, held on 15 February in the sports hall of the Zespół Szkół Zawodowych i Ogólnokształcących in Kamienna Góra, featured 8 teams. Our county was represented by a team from the Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych, playing in the following lineup: Jarosław Czulak (goalkeeper), Przemysław Karpiak (goalkeeper), Marcin Kraśnicki, Paweł Urbaniak, Michał Nowak, Andrzej Miżdal, Cyprian Baczewski, Marcin Cieślicki, Tomasz Król and Kacper Wojciechowski.
The Bolesławiec “Mechanik” won all its group-stage matches (1:0 against the Zespół Szkół Ogólnokształcących team from Kamienna Góra, 3:1 against Zgorzelec and 3:0 against Karpacz) and advanced to the semifinal, where it faced the favored team from Mirsk (whose lineup includes players from Włókniarz Mirsk, the second-placed team in the regional league). The Bolesławiec team defeated its opponents 3:1.
Unfortunately, our footballers lacked luck and energy in the final. The host team defeated the players from ZSM 3:0. The vice-champions’ coach is Daniel Małachowski.
