ZEC workers secured the corroded pipe, from which water was leaking. This reduced the leak enough to avoid interrupting the heat supply to central Bolesławiec during the most severe frosts.

The downtown heating main supplies water to Łukasiewicza, Żwirki i Wigury, Bolesława Chrobrego, Polna and Asnyka streets, as well as smaller adjoining streets.

“We will do everything we can not to deprive residents of heating,” says ZEC president Wiesław Ogrodnik. “But the matter is serious because we do not know how long this 40-year-old pipe will last.

ZEC will wait until the most severe frosts have passed, and then replace the pipe.
