The symbolic turning of the first spade on Tuesday afternoon marked the start of the expansion and reconstruction of the sewage system in Bolesławiec as part of the ISPA/Cohesion Fund project. The construction of approximately 28.9 km of municipal sewer network is planned in Bolesławiec itself.
The construction of approximately 7 km of combined sewer system in Bolesławiec will increase the capacity of existing sewers, mostly large-diameter main collectors that have become the so-called “bottleneck” of the city’s entire sewer system. They will be relieved by the parallel construction of new sewers. The remaining part of the new sewer network will provide infrastructure for 44 hectares of industrial areas and new development areas, as well as connect to the sewer system areas where septic tanks are currently used.
Hydrobudowa 6 S.A. is the contractor for all the work. The contract between the Municipality of Bolesławiec and Hydrobudowa was signed on 12 May 2005.
The “Wastewater Treatment in Bolesławiec” project, co-financed by the European Union, includes the largest investment in the history of our city. Its main objective is to protect the Oder and its tributary, the Bóbr River, from pollution.
