On Friday, 7 December, at 5:00 p.m., the opening of an exhibition prepared from the collections of the Karkonosze Museum in Vrchlabí will take place at the Museum of Ceramics on Mickiewicza Street. Original Czech handicraft products will be presented: Christmas decorations made of glass, paper and even sugar, old Christmas cards and commemorative pictures. A significant part of the exhibition will be devoted to the famous Czech Christmas nativity scenes. The exhibition will be open until the end of January 2013.
In two weeks, on Friday, 21 December, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m., the museum will host workshops for children and adults, as well as handicraft demonstrations on making Christmas decorations. An additional attraction will be decorating the Christmas tree together in the museum garden, followed by the premiere of a nativity play performed by the “Ziemia Bolesławiecka” Song and Dance Ensemble at 3:00 p.m.
Admission to the exhibition and participation in the demonstrations and workshops are free of charge. These activities are being carried out as part of the “Gardens of Living Tradition – Protection of the Common Heritage of the Polish-Czech Borderland” project, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Operational Programme of Cross-Border Cooperation Czech Republic–Poland 2007–2013.
