Marcin Krzyształowicz’s gripping, modern war thriller “The Ambush” is a story of betrayal and revenge, guilt, punishment, a sense of honour and loyalty. The film received the Silver Lions at the Gdynia Film Festival and was selected among the 16 best films from around the world this year in the prestigious selection of the Montreal International Film Festival. It is one of the most moving Polish films of recent years.

In December, the Film Discussion Club programme will feature three films. A particularly interesting choice is “Love”, directed by Michael Haneke. The film is described as one of the greatest masterpieces of contemporary cinema.

The two other films in the December Film Discussion Club programme are “Chinese Take-Away” – a warm and flavourful comedy that won the hearts of audiences and critics – and the French-Canadian film “Cafe de Flore”. It is a story about love and people separated by time and place, but connected by a deep and mysterious bond.

Tickets can be reserved on the cinema’s website.
