The competition “In the Land of Lusatian Waters and Wetlands” was attended by 17 teams in the primary school category, 8 in the lower-secondary school category and 2 in the upper-secondary school category. The teams were assessed by a competition committee consisting of: Grażyna Strzyżewska, head of the Municipal Department at Bolesławiec City Hall, Sylwia Michałeczko, inspector in the Municipal Department, Katarzyna Graczyk, head of the Municipal Centre for Environmental Education, and Elżbieta Mosorka, trainee at Bolesławiec City Hall.

The following teams qualified for the regional stage:

  • in the primary school category
    1. Primary School No. 2 (Łukasz Sawicki, Mariusz Dziuba and Maciej Ferlewicz)
    2. J. Kukuczka Primary School in Ocice (Krzysztof Ruciński, Krzysztof Szczur and Magdalena Grelich)
  • in the lower-secondary school category
    1. I Private Lower-Secondary School (Magdalena Janczak, Kamila Bartoch and Monika Marusiak)
    2. Adam Mickiewicz Lower-Secondary School in Nowogrodziec (Monika Harc, Martyna Mudrak and Paulina Zielińska)
    3. Municipal Lower-Secondary School No. 3 (Milena Dmuchowska, Karol Wilk and Justyna Marnicka)
  • in the upper-secondary school category
    1. Second General Secondary School (Martyna Baszczyj, Beata Tereszczyn and Agata Reguła).

The “Water – the Source of Life” competition, addressed to third-grade primary school pupils, concluded the field classes conducted by the Water Supply and Sewerage Company (in cooperation with the Municipal Centre for Environmental Education) as part of the “Bolesławiec Acts Ecologically” project, co-financed by the Regional Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Wrocław.

The competition committee consisted of: deputy head of the wastewater treatment plant Magdalena Grundman-Kowalska, Katarzyna Graczyk and Elżbieta Mosorka. Here are the names of the winners:

  2. Konrad Chrząstowski (Primary School No. 5)
  3. Alicja Ratajczak (Primary School No. 4)

The “Protected Plants in Poland” competition, aimed at first-grade lower-secondary school pupils, was attended by 18 people. The competition was held as part of the “Bolesławiec Acts Ecologically” project, co-financed by the Regional Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Wrocław. Here are the names of the top participants:

  1. Paulina Owerko (Lower-Secondary School No. 4)
  2. jointly: Damian Kożuchowski (Lower-Secondary School No. 4), Julia Fulczyńska (Lower-Secondary School No. 4) and Szymon Ostrowski (Lower-Secondary School No. 1)
  3. Dominika Warmus (I Private Lower-Secondary School)

The awards ceremony for the competitions organised as part of the “Bolesławiec Acts Ecologically” project will take place on 13 November (Tuesday) in the Councillors’ Hall at the Town Hall. It will begin at 10:00.
