Last school year, the Janusz Korczak II Secondary School in Bolesławiec undertook activities aimed at supporting and developing the passion for photography among students and staff of middle and secondary schools. The “Photography – My Passion” project was carried out at the school, as part of which four competitions and post-competition exhibitions were held.
This school year, the management of II LO and Joanna Turczyńska, the project coordinator, intend to continue these activities, but in a different form. The photography competitions will be open to everyone, and all amateur photographers will be able to participate.
This autumn, the school organized the “Life Is Beautiful” competition. The announcement of the results, combined with the presentation of prizes to the winners, took place on Tuesday, October 30, in the auditorium of II Secondary School in Bolesławiec (Dolne Młyny Street).
The entries were assessed by a jury consisting of: Joanna Turczyńska; Parents’ Council representative Beata Skrzypek; II LO teacher Izabella Daniel; artist Czesław Matyjewicz; and Rafał Sapeta from the Student Council. The winning entry was a photograph by Bartosz Jędrzejczyk entitled “Young Couple”. The jurors awarded second prize to Michał Medyński (for “Umbrella” and “Cave”). Anna Guzik took third place (for the photograph “Puddle”). Honorable mentions went to: Daniel Wołoszyn and Monika Wierzchowska.
The next II LO photography competition will take place in spring.
