Four new post-secondary schools will be established on the basis of existing upper-secondary school complexes. The post-secondary schools will be created at the Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych, the Zespół Szkół Handlowych i Usługowych, the Zespół Szkół Ogólnokształcących i Zawodowych and the Zespół Szkół Elektronicznych. They will enable young people to acquire a profession and provide an interesting alternative for those who, for various reasons, will not be able to attend university.
During Thursday’s session, councillors also decided to abandon plans to liquidate the county hospital. As a result, the earlier resolution to liquidate the public hospital in preparation for its subsequent transformation into a non-public facility was repealed. In this way, councillors are enabling the public hospital to receive assistance from the state budget. In April, Parliament decided that state aid would not apply to non-public hospitals.
