A city game connected with the history of our town took place on Friday, 5 October, in the streets of Bolesławiec. The event, a new element of the “Getting to Know Our Homeland” competition, involved 10 teams from schools in Bolesławiec County.

Participants had two hours to reach the places—marked on a map—that were significant to the history of Bolesławiec. Riddles and tasks awaited them there, and solving them correctly required knowledge, perceptiveness and logical thinking. The starting and finishing point was the building of the City History Department of the Museum of Ceramics at 14 Kutuzowa Street.

Despite the considerable difficulty of the tasks, the competition proved to be very close. In the primary-school category, the team from Primary School No. 2 in Bolesławiec won. Its members were: Nikola Kruk, Lukrecja Mortellani, Wojciech Kukieła, Jacek Myjkowski and Łukasz Sawicki. The team’s supervisor is Lidia Sobczyk.

Among secondary schools, the students of I Private Gymnasium in Bolesławiec were the clear winners: Kamila Bartoch, Paulina Jarosz, Sławomir Gortych, Norman Lippik and Łukasz Opała. The students supervised by Barbara Opar scored the maximum number of points.

The organisers of the event, as well as of the entire “Getting to Know Our Homeland” competition, were the Bolesławiec Branch of the Youth Hostels Association, the Department of Education, Culture, Physical Culture and Sport of the Bolesławiec County Office, and the Museum of Ceramics.
