Kabaret Skeczów Męczących performed at the Forum hall of the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre–International Ceramics Centre on Thursday, 4 October. The Kielce comedians’ performance was warmly received by the Bolesławiec audience. The satirists performed two encores. For one encore, KSM performed, among other things, one of its sketches about the well-known—and “not entirely screwed-up”—security guard Śruba.
Karol Golonka, Jarosław Sadza, Marcin Szczurkiewicz and Michał Tercz established excellent rapport with the audience. In the “Hospital” sketch, the cabaret was assisted by a member of the audience—Lidka. The cry “Give me the pension!” from “The ZUS Robbery,” which the Kielce performers presented midway through the show, returned many more times that evening.
KSM’s sketches address many current topics, such as the state of Polish football, motorway construction, ZUS and politics. There were also references to Natalia Siwiec, the Grycans and the death of Hanka Mostowiak. There was a local touch, too (BKS Bobrzanie Bolesławiec!). The satirists also presented their own vision of hell, which, as it turned out, does not have to be so terrible after all (at least for men), while some audience members could learn that, whether they wanted to or not, they were on a protein diet.
At the end, the cabaret presented another scene featuring Buźka and Zęba (the excellent Sadza and Szczurkiewicz), already known to the audience from “The ZUS Robbery.” It was a superb conclusion to a wonderful performance.
