On 3 October 2012, an open day will be held at the Osiecznica Swimming Pool, during which visitors can take advantage of a free swimming lesson. And on 8 October, another series of water-based classes for infants and young children begins.
The classes are organized by Wodne Przedszkole KUBUŚ, which also holds classes at swimming pools in Jelenia Góra, Karpacz, Chojnów, Świebodzice and Jawor. The meetings are led by an instructor who will teach parents how to spend time with their child at the swimming pool in a pleasant, safe and healthy way. During the classes, each child in the water is accompanied by a parent.
These are exercises designed to familiarize children with the aquatic environment, gymnastics, and the development of habits that improve a child's safety in the water. They also build a foundation that, later in life, will support learning swimming techniques. If the parent is relaxed and convinced of the value of this activity, there is a good chance that the child will feel comfortable in the water during the classes from the very beginning.
During the meetings, the little ones learn, among other things, how to position their bodies correctly on their stomachs and backs, how to breathe into the water, basic arm and leg movements, and how to jump into the water. There is also singing and familiar games. In addition, these classes support the rehabilitation of children with musculoskeletal dysfunctions and integrate disabled children with able-bodied children, both physically and mentally. Class time should be used to play with the child. Joint exercises help build a strong emotional bond. Each participant will receive an underwater photograph as a keepsake.
