The opening ceremony of the 2012/2013 school year at the Janusz Korczak Secondary School No. 2 in Bolesławiec is now behind us. During the ceremony, a delegation of first-year students took their oath.
Mirosław Sakowski, the school principal, spoke.Mirosław Sakowski “Our students passed the school-leaving examination with a 100 percent success rate. I thank everyone who contributed to this result,” he said. “A new school year has begun. I encourage everyone to work and study diligently and to give their all so that our school enjoys the respect of the local community and so that we achieve the best possible results in education, culture and sport.
The principal also presented the Primus Inter Pares award, funded by him, worth PLN 500. It went to Zofia Lenkiewicz, a graduate of II LO who achieved the best results in the school-leaving examination this year. The award was collected on the laureate’s behalf by her sister, Anna.
“We have a 100 percent pass rate in the school-leaving examinations,” says Mirosław Sakowski. “This is 8% better than in the county and 12% better than in the entire voivodeship. I am very pleased about it.
What is more, II LO spent PLN 45,000 from its own funds on renovating one of the school corridors. Several classrooms were also renovated, the Orlik sports complex was refurbished, and an electronic register was introduced. “The e-register will make teachers’ work easier and give the parents of our students the opportunity to monitor their children’s progress,” adds Sakowski.
