The organizer of the Blood Donation Drive is PKO Bank Polski, and the partner is the National Blood Centre. During this year’s summer holidays, the drive will visit a total of 19 towns.

Last year, more than 1,300 people took part in the drive, donating nearly 577 litres of blood. Over the past four editions, more than 900 litres of blood were collected in total. This year, more than 170 litres have already been donated. The summer edition of the blood donation drive includes first-aid demonstrations and educational activities for children. Adults can also take advantage of specialist medical consultations.

It is no coincidence that the first stage of the Blood Donation Drive takes place during the summer holidays. This is the period when healthcare facilities need the most blood.

On Friday, 24 August, the Blood Donation Drive will arrive in Bolesławiec. Blood can be donated from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Piłsudski Square.

“Blood donation is a beautiful and noble cause. Let us remember that only through the goodness of our hearts can we save another person’s health and life. All blood types are needed because there are recipients with different blood types. I wholeheartedly appeal for active involvement in the idea of voluntary blood donation,” says Agnieszka Beniuk-Patoła, director of the National Blood Centre.

The success of the Blood Donation Drive is demonstrated by the fact that many well-known people have joined the initiative. The ambassador of the drive was Krzysztof Cugowski from Budka Suflera. The PKO BP project was also supported by Olympic champion Paweł Nastula, Kraków bard Jacek Wójcicki, singer Norbi and former national football team player Tomasz Iwan. This year, the face of the campaign is Kayah.
