On Monday afternoon, the “Blues nad Bobrem” workshops began at the castle in Kliczków. They are being held for the twentieth time this year. More than 140 people came to the castle to learn to play and sing.
Classes are held in 12 groups: two vocal groups, and groups for bass guitar, drums, keyboards and harmonica, as well as as many as five electric-guitar groups and a newly established group led by Magda Piskorczyk.
As part of the workshops, a dozen or so workshops and presentations will be held, including those by Wojciech Karolak, Jarosław Śmietana, Keith Dunn, Wojciech Garwoliński, Micky Maas and Sławomir Puchała.
The workshops are being held as part of the 22nd Blues nad Bobrem Festival. Several events have been prepared for the residents of Bolesławiec.
“Blues nad Bobrem Masters” is a concert that will take place on Friday, August 10, at 7:00 p.m. at the Old Theatre in Bolesławiec. It will feature outstanding artists, including guitarists Marek Raduli, Marek Napiórkowski, Jacek Królik, Leszek Cichoński, Artur Lesicki and Jacek Jaguś. Bassists Wojtek Pilichowski and Tomek Grabowy will perform. Zbyszek Lewandowski will demonstrate his mastery on drums, while Paweł Serafiński will play the keyboards. Krystyna Prońko will be among the vocalists.
19th Blues Band Review will take place on Saturday, August 11, in the courtyard of Kliczków Castle, followed by a performance by SOUL RE VISION in the Girl Power project, winners of this year’s Rawa Blues. They will be followed by the evening’s star, Magda Piskorczyk, nominated for the 2012 Fryderyk Award.
The traditional blues mass will be held at the church in the Kwiatowe estate on August 12.
On Tuesday, August 14, Kliczków Castle will host the final concert. Performers will include one of Poland’s most outstanding guitarists and composers, Jarosław Śmietana, joined by Wojciech Karolak and Bill Neal in a remarkable blues programme from the album “I Love The Blues”; harmonica player and vocalist Keith Dunn; the equally renowned G. Wolf (Wojciech Garwoliński); and HooDooBand, as well as Cotton Wing—the winners of last year’s Blues Band Review.
