I am Gustaw, affectionately called Gucio, because I am only 10 months old. I have Duchenne muscular dystrophy. It is a systemic, severe and progressive disease that takes away one muscle after another. It attacks the muscles responsible for movement, as well as the heart and respiratory muscles. To slow the progression of the disease, I need frequent and regular exercises with physiotherapists, water rehabilitation, massages of all the muscles in my body, and consultations with specialists in Poland and abroad. As I get older, I will need more and more of these things, including specialized equipment. I am sending a lot of smiles from the Little Warrior.
A charity concert for Gucio will be held on May 25 (Saturday) at the Teatr Stary in Bolesławiec at 5:00 p.m. The following performers will appear at the concert:
- 59-700
- Aleksandra Sozańska-Kut
- Mirosław Kuc
- Jacek Rydz
- Filip Jaworski
- Zespół Ślad
- Magda Magic Piskorczyk Band
- Levandek Super Band with guests Natalia Lubrano and Jacek Jaguś.
During the breaks between bands, auctions of memorabilia and items (records, etc.) are planned.
“Starting Tuesday, tickets—charity vouchers—will be distributed at the Tourist Information Point at Rynek 19/21. Tickets cost PLN 80. The first donations have also been made by Bolesławiec companies: Arverso, Świat Barw, Ceramika Zebra and Bader Polska, as well as by private individuals associated with the Blues nad Bobrem festival from Opole and Zielona Góra,” says Jerzy Pietrzak, one of the people involved in the charity campaign and a member of the Blues nad Bobrem association.
The concert is organized by: Stowarzyszenie Ziemia Bolesławiecka, Powiat Bolesławiecki, Młodzieżowy Dom Kultury w Bolesławcu, Teatr Stary, members of the Stowarzyszenie Blues nad Bobrem, and Muzeum Ceramiki w Bolesławcu. Hotel Garden is among the supporting companies.
