In July last year, we reported that Bolesławiec had placed 11th in the country in the local-government ranking, in the category of urban and urban-rural municipalities, which gave the city third place in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. In this year’s ranking by the daily “Rzeczpospolita”, we dropped to 37th place.

The “Rz” ranking aims to honor cities and municipalities that do the most to promote development and improve residents’ quality of life while adhering to the principles of responsibility and financial security. Local governments are assessed in three categories: cities with county rights, urban and urban-rural municipalities, and rural municipalities.

Bolesławiec was also included in the ranking of municipalities most effective at obtaining EU funds. The city placed 78th. The ranking was compiled based on data from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Regional Development.
