The celebrations began with a solemn Mass for the club, celebrated at the sanctuary in the Market Square. After the Mass, a formal ceremony was held in the Forum hall. It was attended by people from different generations who were connected with BKS in various ways. Among those present were sports officials, sponsors, athletes, club authorities, and representatives of the city and county authorities. During the ceremony, commemorative medals and acknowledgements were presented to all those who had contributed to the club’s history and development.
BKS is not only about football. The club also had and continues to have chess, bridge and boxing sections. To mark the club’s anniversary, a Commemorative Boxing Tournament was organised. Spectators could watch four exhibition bouts featuring male and female boxers from Bolesławiec, Zgorzelec and Lubin. All the bouts ended in draws.
Around noon, a veterans’ match was played at the stadium on Spółdzielcza Street. BKS Bolesławiec faced Zagłębie Lubin. It was an entertaining match. The players of both teams put together many well-worked attacks and scored a total of six goals. The match ended in a 3–3 draw.
After the veterans, two teams that normally play in the first division took to the stadium pitch. Zagłębie Lubin and Odra Wodzisław played an exhibition match. However, a torrential downpour prevented the game from being completed. The match was stopped with Odra Wodzisław leading 3–1. Not many fans came to the match. Perhaps this was because admission to the stadium cost 10 złoty per person.
The BKS 50th-anniversary celebrations ended with a festival in Waryński Park. Competitions and games for children were held in front of the stage, with footballs, T-shirts and scarves bearing the Bolesławiec Sports Club logo available as prizes. The hip-hop group NDW and the long-awaited headline act, Sumptuastic, performed on stage. The final attraction of the evening was a disco, which brought the Bolesławiec Sports Club celebrations to a close.
