The idea of building a gallery in the attic came from MDK director Ewa Lijewska. "When I took over as director and was getting to know the MDK building, I was captivated by the attic, which had been turned into a storage room. I immediately knew that such a charming place could not be wasted," says Ewa Lijewska.

The gallery, which currently displays works by MDK students, is open to everyone. Schools, for example, can hold their exhibitions there. It is also a wonderful venue for author evenings with poets and writers.

The gallery was created thanks to the county authorities, the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, Dariusz Pawliszcz, Jan Cołokidzi, Robert Opala, Wiesław Słobodzian, Bolesław Buryła, and the companies "Safage" and BZM Cieśla.
