Last October, the Melikos choir from Primary School No. 1 went on tour to Germany, to Hildesheim near Hanover. Now Primary School No. 1 is hosting its partner, the Kehrwieder Children’s Choir from Sohlde, Germany. Since May 24, for five days, the German children have been staying with the families of pupils from Bolesławiec’s Primary School No. 1.
The visit’s program in Poland includes, among other things, a meeting with the school community, participation in educational activities, tours of ceramic factories, a visit to the mayor of Bolesławiec, and trips to Kliczków and Karpacz.
The two choirs prepared two concerts for the residents of Bolesławiec. The first took place on Thursday at the church on Łasicka Street. The next one will take place on Saturday in the Forum hall at 12:00.
The German choir’s visit is taking place as part of the German Culture Days in Poland. The children and youth exchange project is financed by the Nysa Euroregion and local sponsors, namely the Bolesławiec Municipal Office, the company "Eko-Naft" and the "Oleńka" restaurant.
