A group exhibition by Krystyna Gay-Kutschenreiter, Mateusz Grobelny, Edyta Orlińska, Bronisław Wolanin and Marek Zyga is being prepared at the BOK-MCC gallery. The Bolesławiec Hall of Fame of Ceramists will also be opened, consisting of ceramic plaques bearing the artists’ handprints. The plaques will be incorporated into the paving slabs in front of the centre.

Bolesławiec ceramists will present their works at a group exhibition organized by the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre–International Ceramics Centre. The exhibition will be the first display launching an entire series promoting local ceramic artists.

Among Bolesławiec’s ceramic artists, Krystyna Gay-Kutschenreiter has been recognized for her contribution to organizing the Ceramic and Sculpture Workshops in Bolesławiec, which during her tenure as commissioner grew to international stature.

Bronisław Wolanin, an artist whose contributions to Poland have earned him the prestigious Gloria Artis medal. Since 1964, he has been associated with the “Artistic Ceramics” Artistic Handicraft Cooperative in Bolesławiec, where he serves as artistic director and chief designer. He is the creator of the contemporary style of Bolesławiec stoneware. He introduced new shapes, glazes and decorations into production, helping Bolesławiec stoneware products gain popularity around the world.

Mateusz Grobelny for promoting ceramic art in Poland and abroad. The acclaimed artist, who settled permanently in Bolesławiec and has his own studio at BOK-MCC, receives invitations to prestigious ceramic exhibitions.

Edyta Orlińska for her own creative work and for running the ceramics and sculpture studio at BOK-MCC, where students, drawing on Orlińska’s knowledge and experience, win top prizes in art competitions.

Marek Zyga, a self-taught artist who, through his own trial and error in the quiet of his home studio, achieved extraordinary perfection. Drawing inspiration from the work of renowned ceramicists, he created his own artistic language. After more than eight years of practice, he gained the recognition of many people and is now a respected and highly regarded artist in Poland, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany and Sweden.

The exhibition opening will take place on Friday, 11 May, at 6:00 p.m. at the BOK-MCC Gallery.
