Piotr Roman spoke today at the city council session in the style of Father Natanek’s sermons. The probably overly intense experiences Piotr Roman had while watching the film “The Fog” likely influenced the preacher-prophet tone of his statement. The mayor had attended a Mass marking the second anniversary of the Smolensk disaster and a screening of the tragic film organized by the Gazeta Polska Club. At the session, he declared that every Pole should see “The Fog,” but that there was no point hoping it would be broadcast on public television. Councillor Mirosław Sakowski (PO) asked the mayor to stop promoting the film so insistently. This prompted the mayor to deliver a sermon.
– Councillor, I will continue promoting the film “The Fog,” I will promote the film “April 10,” I will promote the film about the daughter of the late Lech Kaczyński – intoned Piotr Roman. – And I will do so until I see these films on public television, for which I pay a licence fee! These films must not see the light of day. I feel as if I were living under the People’s Republic of Poland, because I can buy some films and books, yes, but it is as if I were buying them through the underground market. What the National Broadcasting Council is doing now is simply outrageous. If two million people sign an appeal for a licence for TV Trwam, if one hundred thousand people take to the streets in protest, while the prime minister and the president believe this is no problem and have no influence over the National Broadcasting Council, then something bad is happening in this country! – Roman concluded in the style of a preacher punished with suspension.
The mayor also added that Councillor Sakowski, as a school principal, should provide his students with access to the films mentioned by the mayor, so that young people would have an alternative to the pap served to them by TVN and other television stations, which he did not name.
We are stepping in for Principal Sakowski and presenting the first part of “The Fog.” The three remaining parts are available through the “underground” circulation on YouTube. We also encourage you to take part in our poll.
Czy prezydent Roman na sesji powinien promować film „Mgła”?
