A treat for roller-skating fans – on Sunday, 24 June, in Osiecznica the fifth edition of the Lower Silesian Forests Skate-Marathon will take place. Skaters will race over distances of 42 km, 16 km and 2 km. The last of these routes has been prepared with children in mind.
The event has attracted growing interest year after year. Nearly 300 skaters, including 59 Germans and 7 Czechs, took part in last year's competition.
The full name of the June competition—following the acquisition of a title sponsor—is 5 Lower Silesian Forests Skate-Marathon Zico Racing Marathon in Osiecznica. Thanks to cooperation with, among others, Zico Racing, the total value of the prizes amounts to approximately PLN 18,000.
Moreover, the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre in Osiecznica, the event organiser, has signed an agreement with the Polish Roller Sports Association to organise the “2012 Polish Cup in Roller Speed Skating” race. This year's edition is called the “Rollerblade – Roll4live MarTomBike Polish Cup”. The second qualifying round for this series has been scheduled in Osiecznica.
Detailed information is available on the event website and on the Skate-Marathon Facebook profile. Istotne.pl will be the event's media patron.
