At the last session, city councillors protested against the failure to include Father Rydzyk’s TV Trwam in the package of digital terrestrial television channels. “We express our disapproval of the blatant discrimination against the residents of Bolesławiec as well, in their ability to receive TV Trwam,” they wrote in the resolution.

However, we have not heard that the councillors were equally outraged or protested as strongly when, for nearly half a year, residents paying the lowest subscription fee for Bolesławiec’s Azart-Sat cable service could not watch the TVN, TV4 and TV Puls programmes included in their package. We wrote about the matter in December last year. At the time, the councillors issued no resolution and did not even mention it during the session, although the matter was widely discussed.

Councillor Dariusz Filistyński, the initiator of the resolution defending TV Trwam, told us that he did not remember the situation with the cable service. “But apparently the matter is no longer relevant. We need to meet and talk about the other television stations. I did not have full knowledge of the subject,” the councillor added. Asked why he had not filled in the gaps in his knowledge, he replied that this was not a question for him, but for all the councillors.

Following our report, and without any intervention by the councillors, all the programmes due to residents are now available in the lowest subscription package of Bolesławiec’s cable television service.
