The preschoolers from the Branch of Municipal Public Kindergarten No. 3 had the opportunity to learn about Easter customs and traditions. The children painted and decorated colorful Easter eggs, made Easter chicks and bunnies, holiday cards, baskets and palms. They also sowed cress and oats.

The children also learned poems, songs and performances about Easter, as well as old folk games associated with these holidays. Blessing baskets of food, baking Easter cakes and splashing one another with water on Śmigus-Dyngus were also traditions the children knew very well and were happy to talk about.

Before the Easter breakfast, a celebration entitled “A Musical Easter” was held. Each preschool group presented its singing, dancing and acting skills. The children also watched a multimedia presentation and took part in several competitions and music-based games.

The children greatly enjoyed a competition in which they had to transport a balloon Easter egg in wheelbarrows. The wheelbarrows moved to the rhythm of the music (quietly-slowly, loudly-quickly). The children’s sudden reaction to the change in dynamics caused some cheerful Easter eggs to jump out of the wheelbarrows.

The preschoolers also played an old game (known as early as the 12th century) called “na wybitki” or “w bitki,” in which one Easter egg was struck against another. The winner was the person who cracked the opponent’s egg.

The educational game “The Easter Basket,” played to music, showed that the preschoolers knew perfectly well what should be placed in a basket taken for blessing. At the end of the holiday gathering, each preschooler received a chocolate bunny.

The entire celebration took place in a very pleasant atmosphere. Meetings of this kind always bring joy and children’s smiles, create a festive mood and help integrate children from all age groups.
